Interview session with Mr. Ron

  1. Why did you let your mustache grew?

Because it’s too hard to shave.

  1. What inanimate object did you like when you were a child?

Well, I like to play with marbles when I was young. I also used to have stuffed rabbits, bears and chickens.

  1. What was your occupation back in the USA?

Well, I was a teacher in USA. I was also a beekeeper and had a farm where I took care of my animals and grew plants. Other than that, I used to create prosthetic legs.

  1. What thing did you hate the most?

I don’t like fights or conflicts. Also, air pollution.

  1. What was your first impression of Indonesia?

People are friendly, quiet, and sometimes say things they don’t mean. Also, the public bathrooms are “nice”.

  1. What is the main difference between Indonesians and Americans?

Americans are sloppy dressers and often seen with too many tattoos on their body, unlike Indonesians. And a lot of Americans are overweight.

  1. How did you become a principal?

Someone hired me, and I took the job.

  1. What kind of student were you when you were in high school?

I was a terrible student. I was irresponsible of assignments, and I would only do my homework when it was close to the submission date…

  1. Why did you choose to be bald?

I got tired of washing my hair every day, so I decided to be bald.

  1. If you’re not a principal, or is fired from being a principal, what would be your alternate job?

A Walmart greeter.

  1. What silly habit did you have when you were a child?

I wouldn’t call it as a habit, as I see it as a passion. I love collecting Matchbox (brand) cars when I was young. I would have it everywhere in my room and would not let anyone move it from its position.

  1. How did you know about Indonesia and why did you came?

My parents moved to Indonesia in 1962.
