Dearest readers,
It is my privilege to welcome you to our first issue of Saint Peter’s Key; our very own school magazine. For many a year I have toyed with the idea of getting one going, allow me to give you a brief description of how this magazine has come to be.
Back when I was a young whippersnapper, a student in secondary school, I was part of the “editorial staff”, if you will, in my school. Granted, my input was only in the sense of writing stories and providing poor attempts at drawings. I do fondly remember working with my Art teacher, who was the editor-in-chief.
Fast forward twelve-or-so years and we find ourselves in 2015. After consulting with Miss Ruth and Mr. Myers, I was given the task of creating a school magazine for our SPK unit. I humbly accepted, and began with asking the most pertinent question: how do I begin?
Of course, I needed to get some help. The best kind of help. Where else to look than the students themselves? I am fortunate to work together with some very creative, enthusiastic minds, as you can see in the picture. They are the ones who thought up the magazine’s name, logo, content and they selected the materials you get to read and view. Without them, this magazine would never have come to fruition, and I am proud and grateful they are my editors. One final shout out goes to my colleague and friend Mr. Will Bermudez, who significantly improved the overall design.
This truly is a school magazine FOR the students, BY the students. So click away, take a gander, and feel welcome to present your own works to be placed here in the future.
