Kim Tae Gon Choir

School News

Practice for the choir at Kim Tae Gon church were held at room 405, well, usually. Sometimes we practiced on the 7th floor, but it was pretty hot there, as the AC wasn’t on. Ms. Callista, the music teacher from Junior High and Senior High national plus, was helping us playing the keyboard. Unfortunately, for Richie, from Year 8, he was the only boy who joined the choir, at least from Secondary. During the practice, we had to change the key for some of the songs, because it was either too high, or too low.

The day the choir were going to sing was on Sunday, 11th of October 2015. Mr. Tanu, the teacher in charge of the choir, met us at the church, by around 8 or 8:30. Some people were late, luckily the mass hadn’t start yet. I sat down at my place in the choir station, beside my friends, Eva, Jessalyn and Aurel. One by one, I saw everyone come and sat down on the bench in front of me. Not everyone came, which was unfortunate, because then they won’t get any extra points for Religion.

Around 15 minutes before the mass started, I saw familiar faces joining the second floor of the church hall. The teachers, Ms. Mary, Mr. Gen, Ms. Monika, Ms. Stephanie, Mr. Geoffrey and his wife, and Mr. Januar. It was quite pleasing, for me, to see them there, because I thought they wanted to give support for our choir. The mass went by quite like what we all expected, I think. Everyone in the choir sang beautifully and Ms. Callista played the keyboard wonderfully. When one of the church committee members said thanks for our commitment for the choir, everyone applauded and I’m sure everybody else was proud of themselves as I was.

We took a picture for a while, in front of the choir station. Then, we took our lunch, Hoka-Hoka Bento from Mr. Tanu and Ms. Monika. The whole activity was pretty fun, and at least I got to do something in return for God, you should too :).
