THROUGH REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST

Our meditation today has the theme: Through Revelation of Christ. Maria, a housewife of two children who are still in elementary school, is a Catholic who was baptized a year ago. Her husband, Mario has been a Catholic since his childhood. Realizing that her children should be brought up in the Catholic faith, Maria always tries her best to involve in various Church activities and faith formation that could help her better in the Catholic faith. With this spiritual development and her responsibility to her two children, she truly believes that her spiritual growth has been grounded firmly in the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the revelation of the Son of God who came from the Father, and who calls all people to share in His mission on earth. Maria sees herself among the believers who heed this call. Even though at the time of the celebration of matrimony she was not yet a baptized Catholic, she truly realized the revelation of the Lord Jesus. She eventually made up her mind to learn Catholic faith then got baptized and took responsibility to accompany her children growing to become good Catholics.

Ironically, her husband Mario shows some decline in his faith. His wife always reprimands him when he forgets to pray, when he becomes lazy to attend the Eucharist celebration on Sundays, and when he rejects invitations to take part in Church activities. Mario usually gives the reason of works in the office that prevent him from doing things related to faith. However, Maria remains in her conviction, that Jesus does reveal himself more strongly to her as the new comer in Catholic faith, so that in turn, she would take responsibility to strengthen her husband's faith.

Saint Paul experienced the revelation of Jesus Christ which then changed and transformed him to become a great apostle of the Lord. He believed that Jesus' revelation was the true presence of God in person, and there would be never anyone else who can replace it. The gospel that has been preached to all nations is always the gospel of Jesus Christ, and there is none of any book that can replace it. The life of people in Galatia had made Saint Paul convinced about the truth of the revelation of Christ that kept them always in the way of the Lord Jesus Christ.

hat gospel is an expression of the real presence of the One who had sacrificed Himself for our sake. The Lord Jesus always describes Himself in the Gospel as a servant who serves and sacrifices Himself for His neighbors, which is every one whom the Father had entrusted to Him. He had shown us that His ultimate passion on earth was His highest self-revelation, which was to suffer and to die for our salvation. Today, He teaches us His greatest love through the story of the good Samaritan, so that we can learn how to practice His true love. To the point of loving those who are different from us or our enemies, it is the same love that we should offer.

Let's pray. In the name of the Father ... O Lord, teach and encourage us to love our neighbors sincerely with Your love. Hail Mary, full of grace ... In the name of the Father  ...
