Curriculum Specifics

Like a seed of value which requires specific and intentional care, children in the St. Peters Kindergarten are nurtured with great care and attention to detail specifically in regards to their learning and development. We know that research has shown kindergarten plays a very important role in shaping and building character during early childhood, preparing them for primary school studies. That is why, in line with the St. Peter’s school vision, our kindergarten has a vision to carry out religious, humanity and intellectual education, which are applied with several more specific goals in mind:

  1. Help build children’s religious values by teaching them to pray.
  2. Help grow children’s sense of respect among friends.
  3. Help build children’s socialization with their neighbours by taking care of others in the charity area of giving and sharing.
  4. Help build children’s self-discipline by introducing structured daily routine activities.
  5. Develop children’s creativity through singing, dancing, drawing and sports.
  6. Develop children’s competency through language and numeric development.
  7. Create a secure school learning environment, therefore students can feel at home.

Opening classes exist for Nursery 1 (2-3 years old), Nursery 2 (3-4 years old), K1 (4-5 years old) and K2 (5-6 years old), with the maximum class size limit of 20 students. The kindergarten uses English in all class communication as the language of instruction and Bahasa Indonesia as one of the language skill subjects. The Kindergarten curriculum is our own unique and creative educational program, developed and enhanced over the last five years. We believe that each child is unique therefore different approaches and methods are implemented accordingly. Each child is given the freedom to wonder, explore, experiment and question within a safely supervised and monitored environment. In our school, the children will learn at their own pace, which will achieve the best results. The Learning Areas include:
