On 18th October 2022, representatives of Junior High and Senior High Students of Saint Peter School which consist of students, teachers and principals attended the official opening ceremony of Science Film Festival (SFF) which be held at Goethe Institute Indonesia, Sam Ratulangi Road, Jakarta. The theme of this year SFF is “The Equal Opportunity in the Scientific World”.
As we know that Goethe Institute Indonesia in Jakarta has been enlarging the partnership with Saint Peter’s School. In the past 12 years, only SMAS Saint Peter which becomes partner school of Goethe, but now SMP Saint Peter is also becoming the partner school of Goethe Institute. This partnership will be applicable for students who want to study in Germany to join the “STUDIEN BRÜKE”, a special program for students who are keen to study at any university in Germany straight away after finishing their year 12. It can be done because students are able to learn German language and culture since year 7. It is a very rare opportunity. Only those who are about to study fully at Junior and Senior High School of Saint Peter have this golden opportunity to reach their dreams.
The SFF 2022 will be held at Saint Peter’s School on 28th October 2022. We will run two sessions. The First session will be specialized for Secondary students of SPK Saint Peter, and the second session for Junior High students of Saint Peter. Senior High students of SMAS Saint Peter will participate and help junior students to be active in this yearly SFF (Januarius Widyantarto/JW).
Saint Peter Sports and Arts Competition (STORM) is a yearly activity of SMAS Saint Peter. To indicate different theme of each year, the STORM committee 2022 states that this year is baptized with the name STORM MERAKI 2022. Meraki is taken from Greek word means to do something with love, passion and a lot of soul. The “baptized name” of the STORM MERAKI concludes a deep hope that this year STORM being done with a spirit of love, passion and soul. The STORM Meraki 2022 begins on 3rd October and to be closed on 14th October 2022.
During the last two years pandemic era we have only online games and competition, this year we dare to make it offline. But since it is also a kind of trial offline activity, we make this STORM Meraki in a very simple way. We have only three sports and arts competitions, those are basket, solo vocal, and illustration design competitions. Praise the Lord, though in some events we got a heavy rain during the basket matches, but the committee successfully manage the replacement time during the event of STORM Meraki 2022.
Last but not least, though the numbers of SMAS Saint Peter students are not big, but by the help of teachers and staff, they are organizing this event very well. No single student who is not involved in this event. Some of them active in both streams as committee and participants of competitions as well. This is a golden moment for teachers and of course student parents to know the growing talents of our young generation. In God who gives us talents we trust! (Januarius Widyantarto/JW).
